Thursday August 8, 2024 – Day 30 ATL Update (Day 54 in Transit)

Click is ticking until Sunday night/Monday morning when the next Alabama bus runs. I should be on it. If I am not I will be stuck here until August 26th. Football season is my favorite time of year and the season starts August 24th. I really would love to get there before it starts and get settled. The Case Management Coordinator “CMC” emailed me and told me I am manifested to leave in mid August, so I am assuming that means I am leaving the 12th. The CMC is the supervisor on every compound over the Case Management staff, so it is a pretty reliable source.

I have been continuing to plow through the David Baldacci novels. My mom was kind enough to send me three after I missed the last bus. On this trip to Atlanta I have read all five books in David Baldacci’s Will Robie series and I highly recommend them. The novels are in this order: 1) The Innocent, 2) The Hit, 3) The Target, 4) The Guilty, and 5) End Game. All of them are great with my two favorite probably being The Hit and The Guilty. I do recommend reading the whole series.

I have several court motions pending including a 2241 in the Northern District of Mississippi, a 2255 in the Northern District of Texas, and an appeal of my 821 “2 Point Reduction Motion” to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. My initial 2 point reduction motion was denied at the district court level and now my appeal is due on September 16th. I had a jailhouse lawyer at Yazoo, who was supposed to draft the appeal for me, but since I left Yazoo two months ago it has been impossible to communicate with him. I am in the process of hopefully finding a consultant to help me draft it on my behalf and file it as a “pro se” motion meaning I am representing myself. I will go into more detail on these in a later blog post. We are going to be locking down soon. Adios!
