Wednesday July 9, 2024 – Day 23 in OKC

Today marks my 23rd day in OKC. I just got my fifth cellie today, which by my math tells me people leave here on average every four to five days. Somehow I have been here 23. I am anxious to get to Atlanta, even though I know it will be bad, because it is a stepping stone to the prison camp. They have been flying to Atlanta on Tuesday evenings/Wednesday mornings so I am hopeful.

We are still on lockdown due to “broken elevators” or so they tell us. You would think the BOP could fix an elevator in less than 5 days. Today we are allowed out from 11am to 3pm. It is currently 1:30pm as I type this. My last cellie, who left Sunday night/Monday morning to go to Beaumont Camp just suddenly walked back in our unit an hour or so ago. He said his flight got turned around in mid air because of the hurricane. The hurricane sounded pretty bad and my parents were victimized by it. The phone lines are so long I have only been able to touch base with them via email. They lost power for a couple days and went to my aunt’s house, which did not get hit as bad.

I hope I am out of here tonight, we will see. Hopefully the hurricane which turned towards Arkansas doesn’t disrupt my flight if it is in fact scheduled.
